Guardianage Assembly

Mission Statement

The Guardianage Assembly exists to protect our people and their property, serving as the first responders in times of emergency.
Composed of dedicated volunteers from our community, we are committed to fostering a safe and secure environment for all.

Together, we have built a safe and resilient society where everyone feels protected and valued,
contributing to a future in which empowered communities thrive in harmony.

Function

  • Ensure Safety: We prioritise the safety and well-being of our community, responding to emergencies, threats, and crises with courage, professionalism, and compassion, ensuring that all individuals feel secure in their homes and neighbourhoods.
  • Build Community Resilience: We empower community members to take an active role in their own safety through training and education, cultivating a network of informed and prepared individuals who can effectively respond to challenges and support one another.
  • Promote Collaboration: We work closely with local service organisations and agencies to coordinate emergency response efforts, ensuring that resources are deployed efficiently and effectively in times of need, fostering a spirit of cooperation among all stakeholders.
  • Foster Trust and Support: We cultivate strong relationships within the community, promoting trust and cooperation among the people and the commercial emergency responders, thus enhancing our collective capacity to face challenges together.
  • Encourage Volunteerism: We invite and encourage all community members to join us as volunteers, fostering a spirit of service and camaraderie that strengthens our response to emergencies and embodies the collective will of the people in action.

Like the General Assembly, everyone who lives within the Assembly area is by default a participant in the Guardianage Assembly. This occurs by virtue of the fact:

  • To remain free, everyone must defend that freedom
  • Every act of assisting your neighbour is and act of guardianage

The Guardianage Assembly will have it's own Committees -- for example;

  • an Operations Committee (to run emergency operations)
  • a Communications Committee (creating emergency communications infrastructure / protocols etc)
  • a Fire Response Committee (working with and alongside legacy fire response agencies)
  • a Flood Response Committee (working with and alongside State Emergency Services)
  • a Provisions Committee (ensuring availability of all necessary tools etc)
  • an Emergency Medical Committee (working with and alongside State Ambulance Services)
  • a Local Food Provisioning Committee (building food security for the community)
  • etc

They are examples only and still to be defined as volunteers join the Guardianage Committee.
