TASA summary of Anna’s article

Anna clarifies the ethical approach behind her earlier discussion of Air Jurisdiction, which she calls the Triune Law of Love. Responding to concerns about theocracy, she explains that her focus is on how justice can bring lasting repair. Her conclusion is that accountability should work alongside healing, restitution and learning, with care for victims and a path to change for offenders. She asks readers to consider the beliefs and experiences that sustain harmful behaviour, as well as its immediate consequences.

Key points

Anna’s original article

 By Anna Von Reitz

I have gotten quite a few surprised responses to the recent article that describes the very abbreviated "Final Findings" in Air Jurisdiction regarding the current basis of Law and takes everyone through the logic underlying those findings.

People seem amazed that I know my way around the Bible and some are alarmed, thinking that the government is suddenly going to become a theocracy and abandon separation of church and state.

Put your weary heads to rest.

What this signals is a profound change in the basis of Law itself.

Instead of interpretations of actions measured against words that have to be interpreted, too, the standards have been "kicked up a notch" and now the New Kingdom exerts an entirely new measure.

Have you loved the Creator?  Have you loved the Creation?  Have you loved your fellow man?   Have you managed to love Prickly Bob?

It's a completely different value system and a completely different justice system as a result.

With the Triune Law of Love as the capstone, all the other forms of law shift in a subtle yet radical way: the nature of punishment, the requirements of expiation, and the meaning of justice for crime victims all shift into uncharted territory.

This isn't just a piecemeal nullification of acts of legislation by juries or a rewriting of statutes and public policies.  This is a change in the way we think about "law" and "justice" and the standards of behavior we accept.

Up until now, we have processed issues before the court in terms of facts and evidence and our focus has been on catching criminals, punishing bad guys, and maybe imposing fines ---- most of which are paid to the court, not the victim.

In time to come, our focus will be on healing, repairing. learning, expanding, caring for both the criminal and the victim, seeking true justice, understanding higher standards and pursuing greater ends in terms of restitution, release of grief and anger, creating a permanent end to the spiral of crime and the whole culture of crime and violence that has been spawned by social decay, drug addiction, and the penal system itself.

It's not about changing behaviors.  It's about changing people -- changing what they believe, what they experience, and what they feel.  Their behaviors alter accordingly.

This doesn't mean being soft on crime.  It means being more realistic about crime, not less.
