Objective 1: Communicate Assembly activities, decisions, and events
The Assemblies are de jure public governance bodies, committed to transparency in all actions. The Communications Committee’s role is to report Assembly activities to the public in ways that are engaging, clear, and inspire community involvement.
Objective 2: Convey the Assembly’s nature and purpose to the public
The second, more strategic objective of the Communications Committee is to deliver a compelling message that conveys the purpose, nature, and goals of the Assembly to the broader community. By presenting the Assembly as the mechanism for local self-governance, peoples empowerment, and creation of communities, the Committee aims to foster a deeper public comprehension and drive engagement.
Objective 3: Tailoring Communications for Different Audience Groups
To effectively carry out these tasks, the Communications Committee must develop a deep comprehension of the diverse community it serves, tailoring messages that speak directly to different groups, to foster a sense of ownership and belonging. This ensures the Assembly’s vision of self-governance spreads and takes root, creating more empowered and engaged communities.
Objective 4: Leverage The Terra Australisan as a Key Outreach Tool
The Terra Australisan is an important channel for sharing Assembly initiatives, stories, and
solutions with the wider community, including those not directly involved in the Assemblies. The Communications Committee plays an important role in ensuring the paper’s success by contributing meaningful content, expanding its reach, and fostering community engagement.
Objective 5: Maximise Engagement through the Assembly Website
The Assembly website is the central hub for communicating Assembly events, activities, and progress. The Communications Committee will ensure the website is a dynamic, regularly updated resource that fosters engagement, provides transparency, and inspires participation.
