Purpose & Scope

The Jural Assembly Working Group is tasked with defining and detailing the Offices, functions, and operational framework of the Jural Assembly pillar within both National and Local Assemblies. This group plays a key role in shaping the lawful adjudication processes for Terra Australis State Nationals.

Focus Areas

This Working Group will:

• Research and establish the structure and functions of Jural Assemblies at both local and national levels.
  Define the full jury process, including Grand and Trial Jury roles, from notice of wrong through to judgement.
  Outline responsibilities and safeguards for jury selection, jury service, and fair trial processes.
  Develop protocols for record keeping, including documentation, evidence handling, and publication of rulings.
  Clarify the lawful role and jurisdiction of the Jural Assembly in upholding Natural Law through self-governance.

Exclusions

This Working Group will not define roles or functions of Peacekeeping (e.g., Lawful Sheriffs or Conservators of the Peace) or Guardianage Offices, as those are being developed separately by dedicated groups focused on those tasks.

Expected Outcomes

• A comprehensive outline of offices such as, for example, Jury Foreman, Lay Advisers, Court Clerk, Record Keeper, and Notice Administrators.
• Step-by-step documentation of the trial process under Natural Law principles.
• Templates and naming conventions for our version of notices, summons, verdicts, and records.
• Training and procedural materials to support implementation and public understanding.

The Jural Assembly Working Group forms a foundational part of invoking, upholding and administering Law based on Natural Law and the collective will of the people, ensuring "due process", transparency, and accountability without reliance on external or corporate systems.
