Action Group:
Guardianage Committee -- seeking volunteers

A Task Force charged with defining the function, roles and structure of the Local Area and National assembly pillars.

Guardianage Assemblies:

Local Guardianage Assemblies are created for community safety, resilience, and preparedness.
Their purpose is to safeguard the well-being of the people by addressing potential threats, managing emergencies, and coordinating recovery efforts. Based on the concept that “with freedom comes great responsibility” and the knowledge that we need to take responsibility for protecting our freedom, all people in the community are participants in the Guardianage Assembly by default.

Here's a breakdown of their key functions and duties:

1. Defence and Security: Protecting the Community
The Local Guardianage Assembly is tasked with ensuring the security of the community. They assess risks, identify vulnerabilities, and develop strategies to protect people and their interests. By staying vigilant and prepared, they act as the first line of defence against potential threats in the community, ensuring peace and safety for all.

2. Disaster Response and Relief: Acting When It Matters Most
In times of natural disasters or emergencies, the Local Guardianage Assembly leads the way in coordinating response efforts. They work with local teams, neighbouring Assemblies, and volunteer groups to:

  • Organise evacuations.
  • Distribute relief supplies.
  • Provide support for recovery operations.

Their swift and organised action ensures that communities recover as quickly and smoothly as
possible.

3. Emergency Preparedness: Planning Ahead for the Unexpected
Preparation is key to resilience, and the Local Guardianage Assembly plays a proactive role in getting ready for emergencies. This includes:

  • Conducting risk assessments to identify potential hazards (e.g., floods, fires, or storms).
  • Creating contingency plans to address these risks.
  • Liaising with incumbent Emergency response providers (Police, Fire, SES, Ambulance etc).
  • Running training drills to prepare individuals, families, and groups to respond effectively
    when emergencies arise.

4. Crisis Management and Coordination: Leading in Times of Uncertainty
When crises strike, the Local Guardianage Assembly takes charge, ensuring a well-coordinated response. They work closely with:

  • Nearby Guardianage Assemblies.
  • Local utilities and services (e.g., water, electricity, and transport providers).
  • Other stakeholders and community groups.

Their leadership helps maintain public order, deliver timely assistance, and support those affected
by the crisis.

5. Public Awareness and Education: Empowering the People
A well-informed community is a resilient community. The Local Guardianage Assembly raises awareness about safety measures and emergency preparedness by:

  • Running educational campaigns.
  • Sharing practical advice on staying safe during disasters.
  • Encouraging community engagement, so every individual knows how to act when needed.By fostering awareness, they empower people to take responsibility for their safety and that of their neighbours.

6. Resource Allocation and Mobilisation: Delivering What’s Needed, When It’s Needed
During emergencies, quick access to the right resources can save lives. The Local Guardianage Assembly ensures that supplies, equipment, and trained personnel are available and deployed where they are needed most. Their role includes:

  • Coordinating local inventories of essential supplies.
  • Mobilising volunteers and responders.
  • Ensuring resources are used efficiently and fairly across the community.

7. Community Preparedness: Building Resilience Together
Community Preparedness goes beyond individual readiness and focuses on strengthening bonds and shared responsibility within the community. The Local Guardianage Assembly fosters this by:

  • Building Networks of Support: Establishing neighbourhood groups or local committees to
ensure mutual assistance in times of need.
  • Promoting Skill Development: Organising workshops on first aid, survival skills, fire
    safety, and basic self-reliance techniques.
  • Encouraging Self-Sufficiency: Supporting initiatives like community gardens, rainwater
harvesting, and food storage programs to reduce dependence on external systems during
    crises.
  • Conducting Community Drills: Running collaborative drills to prepare families, schools,
and businesses for specific threats such as floods, bushfires, or cyclones.
  • Creating Shared Resources: Establishing community equipment hubs, like portable
generators, sandbag stations, or shared emergency tool-kits.
  • Building Strong Communication Channels: Ensuring every community member knows
how to stay informed and connected during emergencies through reliable communication
    systems.

By focusing on community preparedness, the Local Guardianage Assembly strengthens trust,
cooperation, and resilience among the people, ensuring that everyone is better equipped to face
challenges together.

We are seeing a rise in situations like what happened in Lismore New South Wales, and more
recently with the Hurricane in America where those organisation that are paid to provide assistance in times of need actually block rescue and support efforts. We overcome that when an organised, trained and efficient community takes the lead.

Working Together for Community Safety
The Local Guardianage Assembly is the backbone of community resilience. By planning,
coordinating, and leading in times of need, they ensure that the people are protected and supported.

Their focus on preparedness, education, and resource management means that no one faces
emergencies alone.

Together, with the efforts of all Local and State Assemblies, these Guardianage pillars ensure that
Terra Australis stands strong, united, and ready to face any challenge.
