Monday evening’s Local Assembly Coordinators’ call was a positive and constructive event, with seventeen of the sixty-four Local Assemblies coming together from across the nation.

The purpose of these meetings is simple - but powerful: to learn from one another, to refine our processes, and to ensure that each Local Assembly is supported to grow with confidence having clear direction and sound knowledge. You each need to encourage your own Local Assembly Coordinator to get involved.

A highlight of the evening was the generous sharing of practical insights. Several coordinators walked through their meeting structures and agenda formats, offering examples of how they keep discussions focused, inclusive, and productive.

Local Assemblies should be focused on outreach to bring people to their meetings, and on holding meetings that encourage them to stay and participate. The Local Assembly is the highest authority in our governance model, and the weight of active numbers matters.

This kind of knowledge-sharing is invaluable. As our Assemblies continue to develop, having consistent and thoughtful approaches to meetings helps create stability and confidence for everyone involved.

We were also introduced to The Hub — a dedicated platform designed to support document management, communication, and shared calendars.

Having a central space for coordination and record-keeping will help reduce duplication, improve transparency, and make collaboration between Assemblies more seamless.

A strong theme throughout the meeting was the importance of education. As people correct their political status, it is essential they comprehend how Assemblies function, how decisions are made, and why their active participation is so important.

Well-informed people are better equipped to participate thoughtfully and contribute constructively. Education is not an optional extra — it is a foundation to self-governance.

The group also discussed the importance of clear and fair protocols around meeting conduct and voting eligibility. Healthy Assemblies require respectful participation, clarity of roles, and agreed processes that everyone comprehends.

Establishing these frameworks protects both the integrity of the Assembly and the confidence of its participants.

Finally, off-boarding (assisting people coming off the Citizen-Ship) was recognised as an area deserving continued attention. Welcoming new State Nationals well — and helping them traverse the structure, language, and responsibilities of life on the Soil — is one of the keys to long-term success.

Strong orientation support can ensure that no one feels lost or uncertain about where they stand or how they can contribute.

These Coordinators’ gatherings are becoming a valuable support for the wonderful men and women who have volunteered to build Local Assemblies all across Terra Australis. By sharing experience, refining structure, and maintaining open dialogue, our Local Assemblies continue to mature and stabilise.

Step by step, we are strengthening the foundations together.
