At our last meeting we opened a discussion about our values and guiding principles as a community of self-governing men and women. Please join us to add your voice and perspective as we continue this important discussion.<\/p>\n
We also started to identify the essential goods and services for our community, particularly in an environment where we may experience restrictions. Many men and women attending made a commitment to give this some deeper consideration. To assist with this, we have attached the checklists for food and medicine which were compiled and shared by the Self-Sustaining Satellite Villages group. Please come prepared to offer your ideas on the items you consider to be essential and (if possible) suggestions on sourcing them.<\/p>\n
For anyone who hasn\u2019t yet returned their Volunteer Skill & Experience Form or Our Self-Sustaining Communities Form, these documents [were emailed with this update] for you to complete and bring with you. For anyone who is a reconveyed state national, please also bring your RPP number and proclamation date (hint: this information is in your notice of precipe if you have trouble locating it).<\/p>\n
And finally, we wanted to let you know that this Saturday we will also be creating space for some role play. If you have ever wondered what to say in situations where you might find yourself being questioned by an authority figure, this will be a great opportunity. All will be revealed at the meeting, and we hope you can join us.<\/p>\n

We are also offering an Assistance with paperwork session before the General Assembly meeting on Saturday at 1.30pm-3.30pm for anyone seeking support with this. Please RSVP if you would like support with your paperwork so that we can know how best to assist you when you arrive.<\/p>\n

By popular vote, our General Assembly meeting will go ahead on Saturday 25 April 2026 at 3.30pm-6.00pm, Sandbag Community Centre, 153 Rainbow Street, Sandgate.<\/p>\n
The next Community Connection Event is on Saturday 9 May from 1.30 - 3.00pm at Burpengary Men\u2019s Shed, Unit 1, 17 Maitland Rd, Burpengary East. A reminder that this event is an opportunity for local men and women to showcase their handmade goods, home grown produce and local services, and is vitally important in creating relationships within our community where we can trade privately. We encourage you to support this event in any way you can.<\/p>\n
