Hi all
Looking forward to seeing you this coming Saturday 22 August for our General Assembly
💥 General Assembly
Time: 3.30pm-5.30pm
Open to all – bring a friend along!
We are delighted that Craig McMannis, the Spokesperson Gympie Region Fire Ant Group, has accepted our invitation to do presentation.
Craig will focus on raising awareness to several critical aspects of fire ant management and its broad implications. He will discuss the challenges and solutions available but not yet recognised including scientifically researched natural alternatives for protecting our environment and economy. Craig and the Fire Ant Group are supporting regional communities under the National Fire Ant Eradication Program to take greater ownership in protecting the land we live on, work on and ultimately pass on to future generations. We can achieve this through self-monitoring and if fire ants are identified in an area have the option of scientifically researched natural alternatives.
In our email update we advised that Craig was interviewed on 99.7FM Community Radio at 10.15am Tuesday 18 August. We hope you had a chance to listen.
We have also set some time aside during our meeting to listen to the research from the Post Master Action Group about the role of the Post Master, the authority of the people and the venue where that authority is properly exercised.
We will also share updates from the Moreton Bay Assembly and Interim National General Assembly progress.
Only some segments of this event will be livestreamed. We encourage you to join us live.
Where: Burpengary Men’s Shed, Unit 1, 17 Maitland Rd, Burpengary East.
📌 Upcoming dates for your diary
👉 Saturday 12 September 2026 our Community Connection Event (CCE) and General Assembly will again be at Burpengary Men’s Shed, Unit 1, 17 Maitland Rd, Burpengary East.
Our CCE events are an opportunity for local men and women to showcase their handmade goods, home grown produce and local services. These are vitally important in creating relationships within our community where we can trade privately. We encourage you to support this event in any way you can.
We are continuing our Get to Know Each Other Connection alongside our CCE event. We invite you to join us for coffee and cake from 1.00pm and get to know your fellow community members.
Open to all – bring a friend along!
If you have any questions about this event please contact our event coordinators: Nikita, Kathy and Trish.
👉 Saturday 26 September 2026 our General Assembly is at the Banyo RSL, 61 Hayden Street, Nudgee
