Governance Assembly

Mission Statement

The Governance Assembly exists to empower, support, and serve our communities by executing the will of the people. We deliver on our promises, and ensure the abundant assets, resources, and infrastructure are available for the benefit of people today and into the future.

Function

- Manage Service Provider Performance: We effectively communicate the collective will of the people to the service provider corporations, ensuring they are held accountable for the quality and scope of their services.

- Implement Community Decisions: We transform the community's voice into actionable policies and programs, enhancing the quality of life in our neighbourhoods.

- Manage Resources Wisely: We ensure that our assets, resources, and infrastructure are utilised efficiently, prioritising the needs and aspirations of our communities.

- Promote Well-Being: We provide access to true education, quality real health care, and social services that uplift everyone.

- Address Root Causes: We proactively identify and eliminate the underlying causes of waste, distress, crime, and illness, promoting safety and well-being for all.

- Uphold Integrity: We are committed to transparency, accountability, and honourable behaviour, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within our communities.

Together, we have built a future where empowered individuals thrive, united in our pursuit of peace, freedom, and a shared vision for a better tomorrow.

Mission: To serve as liaison between the General Assembly and the local service provider education and learning centers and agents within the [locality] ensuring services are delivered according to the combined will of the people of the [named] Assembly.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Transparency: Ensure transparency in all dealings, use only plain English, be clear and concise in communication and ensure records are made publicly available.
  2. Collaboration: Work closely with action groups in areas impacting the scope of this Office to research and develop detailed plans on issues and opportunities to present to the General Assembly for a fully informed decision.
  3. Implementation of General Assembly Decisions: Execute all authorised actions and plans, ensuring alignment with the collective will of the community. Engage with corporate service providers within the scope of the Office, directing and overseeing their actions to meet the community's needs and expectations.
  4. Monthly Reporting: Deliver your report to the General Assembly each month, providing updates on progress, challenges, and outcomes. Contribute informed perspectives to the decision-making process related to the scope of this Office.
  5. Delegated Powers: Operate strictly within the powers delegated by the General Assembly, ensuring no Office exceeds its authority or acts independently of community oversight.

Mission: To facilitate the establishment and effective functioning of action groups within the General Assembly, ensuring collaboration, inclusivity, and accountability to achieve the best overall outcomes for the community.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Clarify and document the purpose and intended outcome of new action groups.
  2. Assist in recruiting potential volunteers and specialists to join or provide advice.
  3. Facilitate collaboration between different groups or pillars where appropriate.
  4. Provide guidance and support to newly formed action groups.
  5. Monitor the progress of action groups and provide improvement suggestions.
  6. Mediate conflicts or disagreements within or between groups.
  7. Help community formed groups best prepare for a successful presentation to the General Assembly if needed.
  8. Facilitate update reports by the speaker of each action group to the General Assembly appropriate.
  9. Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of committee activities.
  10. Evaluate the effectiveness of the working groups process and recommend adjustments or new initiatives to the General Assembly as needed.
  11. Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment within the Assembly.
